Genetic Testing

There are so many acronyms in the world of genetic screening and genetic testing…PGT, PGT-A, PGT-M, PGT-R.  It can be hard to keep them all straight.

What is PGT?

The umbrella term that covers all types of genetic testing on embryos is “PGT,” or preimplantation genetic testing.

PGT refers to the process by which embryos are screened and tested for chromosomal and genetic abnormalities prior to being transferred to the patient. PGT is used in conjunction with in vitro fertilization (IVF) to identify the most viable embryos to transfer in order to optimize pregnancy.

We offer Preimplantation Genetic Testing at the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services as part of our commitment to staying at the forefront of evolving reproductive technologies. We combine our state-of-the-art technology and IVF experience with access to advanced genetic testing and counseling.

Our genetic testing program was the first in the state and ranks among the top genetic testing programs offered in Connecticut. It holds the promise of reducing the incidence of genetic disease.
