At The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services [CARS] we are always here for you. You can reach a live Center employee, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:30pm. If you have an emergency before 9:00am or after 4:30pm, please call the Center’s main number and you will be connected to our answering service.
Weekday mornings 7:30-9 and weekends 7:30-12, the answering service will take your message and get it to a live staff member. Weekdays after 4:30 pm and weekends after noon the answering service will triage your call and contact the MD on-call if needed.
Telephone is our primary source of communicating with patients. If your nurse is out, her phone is always covered by another nurse.
To reach your nurse, please dial the main number and the nurse’s extension to reach them directly. Clinical nursing voicemails are checked until 3pm, IVF nursing voicemails are checked until 4pm (Monday-Friday). Any message left after 3pm/4pm will not be returned until the next business day. However, all daily “actively cycling” calls are returned each day.
CARS currently does not have a secure portal for managing confidential, clinical email correspondence. Therefore, we consider email a transactional form of communication to send you forms, documents and instructions. We ask that you not respond directly to these emails, and if you have questions to call your nurse. Please be aware that emails are not checked daily. If your nurse is out, there is no one covering her email in her absence. Therefore, do not utilize email as a primary means of communication with your clinical team.
We utilize a team approach to patient care. Each doctor has an IVF Nurse, Clinical Nurse, Medical Assistant and Financial Services representative. For more information on your doctor’s team please visit our web site at: https://www.uconnfertility.com/about-us/meet-our-team/meet-our-doctors/
Email thru Facebook is monitored Monday thru Friday, 9am to 5pm. Please be aware that email via Facebook is not monitored on weekends. Please do not use Facebook as a means of communicating with your team regarding clinical matters.
Texting is used as part of our process for managing patient flow thru our buildings. We ask you use these numbers for this purpose only. Please do not call or text any other information to the text numbers provided for admittance to our buildings.
