Support Groups

Over the years we have made several attempts at better understanding why patients drop out of care, even though the dropout rate at the Center is half that of the national average. Sometimes the reasons are quite simple such as they have conceived on their own or decided to adopt. Other times we hear that situations have changed such as a relationship ended or the timing just isn’t right. Without a doubt, the two biggest reasons we hear why patients have dropped out of treatment are financial and a sense of being overwhelmed.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by your diagnosis and treatment options, please reach out to us. We have skilled psychologists who are highly trained health professionals, providing education and counseling services to patients at The Center. The mind-body cognitive-behavioral counseling they offer is intended to help patients understand and cope with the stresses of infertility and better deal with emotional and ethical issues that can be encountered. Specific treatment for conditions such as needle phobias is also available. In addition, The Center offers drop-in support groups and a mind-body learning series.

If you are feeling that you cannot afford treatment, please speak to one of our Financial Services Representatives. Our team will work tirelessly to understand your insurance benefit and maximize coverage whenever possible. For those who do not have insurance coverage, we offer several innovative financial options that might just work for you.

Support Groups

Virtual Support Groups

Our free, Center-sponsored virtual groups via Zoom Meeting are currently on hold. These peer support groups–open to women and men, individuals and couples–provide an opportunity for open discussion where you can come together and meet others who are facing similar challenges in a relaxed and confidential setting. Discussion at our general infertility groups may include talking about current treatment, dealing with friends and family, and coping strategies. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been in the trenches for years, attendees from all stages of the infertility journey will be warmly welcomed.

Resolve Support Groups

The Center is committed to providing in-person and/or peer support and is proud to have been hosting RESOLVE and RESOLVE of New England (RNE) peer support groups for nearly 30 years. RNE is a regional non-profit, charitable organization that offers support, education, and advocacy for all in New England that are facing fertility challenges. RNE provides Infertility Support Group meetings, which are an opportunity to meet others facing similar challenges and learn about resources available. Couples and individuals are welcome! RESOLVE also offers a HelpLine to talk to trained volunteers who have experience with infertility. HelpLine is at 866. NOT.ALONE (866.668.2566).

RESOLVE is pleased to continue offering virtual support groups while we’re unable to meet in-person during the COVID-19 crisis. Please check their calendar on their website for dates and times.
