Fertility Counseling

Individualized Fertility Care

The ultimate goal of our fertility center is to help maximize our patients’ chances of getting pregnant. That involves providing the highest quality of medical care and the very latest infertility treatments and protocols. We also advise each of our infertility patients on the best course of care for their particular situation.

Deciding on the Best Fertility Treatments

A significant part of our care focuses on fertility counseling. We provide individualized  guidance that helps our patients make the best decisions for their own personal fertility journey, and the infertility treatments that can get them to their goal of getting pregnant.

We believe in providing couples with honest and realistic fertility treatment information that helps them form their own decisions and expectations around their reproductive care.

Taking the First Steps of Fertility Treatment

We begin by advising couples on steps to take to optimize their chances of getting pregnant. We help them get to know their most fertile times of their cycle each month,  instruct them about how to know when they ovulate, and give them information about any lifestyle changes they may need to make that will positively affect their fertility.

Evaluating Fertility Treatment Options

When it’s time to choose a fertility treatment, we inform couples about all of their treatment options. We explain what each of their fertility treatment options can offer them for their own personal situation. We also give them objective data on success rates of the fertility treatment options on the table, so they can make the most informed decisions about what course to pursue.

Providing Personalized Guidance at Every Step

Perhaps most importantly, we always make ourselves available to patients, and give them the time they need to discuss concerns and issues.

There are many decision-making moments in infertility treatment, and we’re here with objective advice at every step of the process. When we feel it’s time to move on to a different treatment, we’re ready with recommendations.

If it’s time to stop treatments altogether, or if we feel a patient would benefit from a break, we give them the news and the support they need to make those decisions.

We also give our infertility patients all the guidance we possibly can on ethical issues as they arise. Sometimes it’s questions about using donor sperm and eggs, or how to make the decision to have a multi-fetal reduction. There are even questions like what to do with frozen embryos patients no longer want or need.

We’re here as objective sounding boards and advisors during times when fertility treatment decisions are especially challenging, always focused on patient wellbeing.

Coping with the Stress of Infertility

The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services has a highly trained psychologist on staff, Kim Crone, Ph.D. Dr. Crone has considerable experience with helping patients cope with the many and varied stresses of infertility. From coping with the emotional strains of fertility treatment to handling ethical and legal issues, we’re here to help patients stay strong and healthy – emotionally and physically.
